Auto production over 352,000 in January-April 2020
Automakers in Turkey manufactured 352,309 vehicles -- including automobiles and commercial vehicles -- between January and April 2020, according to a sectoral report on May 10.
Turkey's auto production slipped 28 percent on a yearly basis due to factory shutdowns amid the coronavirus pandemic, said the Automotive Manufacturers' Association.

Vehicle registration up 56.2 pct in February
The number of registered vehicles on Turkey's roads increased 56.2 percent year-on-year in February 2020, the country's statistics authority revealed on March 30.
A total of 128,648 first- and second-hand vehicles were registered in the first month of the year, according to the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK).

Volkswagen has once again Delayed the Opening of its Plants in China
Volkswagen announced on Monday that it has once again postponed the opening date of some of its production facilities in China because of the coronavirus concerns.
The German carmaker said that Saic Volkswagen - the joint venture between Volkswagen and Saic Motor Corp- will resume its activities as early as February 24th.

Volkswagen was the most popular car brand in Turkey in January in terms of the number of units it sold on the local market, the latest data have shown.
In the month, the German carmaker managed to sell a total of 3,700 vehicles, according to the calculations of Anadolu Agency, based on the figures from the Automotive Distributors' Association (ODD).
