Beşiktaş achieved an epic 4-3 win over Trabzonspor late on April 8, throwing down a gauntlet to its two closest followers, which will clash with each other on April 10. 

It was not game fever but violence that marked Turkish football over the weekend, with an assistant referee being attacked by a fan during a top-tier game between Fenerbahçe and Trabzonspor, while executives of Amedspor were also beaten by a mob in the capital after a game against Ankaragücü.  

Turkish football's top disciplinary panel has handed out heavy suspensions and fines to Trabzonspor executives, while also sending a veiled message to club chairman ?brahim Hac?osmano?lu, who has been under fire for his sexist remarks.

Be?ikta? maintained its lead atop the Spor Toto Super League standings on May 3 with a 2-0 victory at underperforming Black Sea giant Trabzonspor thanks to a pair of second-half goals.

Unable to penetrate each other?s defense, the two sides relied on long-range shots in the first half but failed to register anything on the score sheet.
