Amid tensions in Moldova, French diplomacy has raised concerns over what it perceives as Moscow's involvement in "attempts to destabilize" the country. Pro-Russian separatists from Transnistria, a breakaway region of Moldova, have reportedly sought assistance from Moscow, prompting speculation about Russia's role in the unfolding situation, AFP reported.

Ukraine's parliament approved late on Nov. 26 the imposition of 30 days of martial law in 10 areas located on the Russian border, the border with the Russian-controlled Transnistria region of Moldova and oblasts located by the Black and Azov seas, reported Kyivpost.

Moldova's breakaway region of Transnistria celebrated the 28th anniversary from its so-called independence on September 2, 1990, on Sunday.

Moldova's President Igor Dodon told Russian newspaper Nezavisimaya Gazeta on Monday that he will block the adoption of his country's new National Defence Strategy document if some of his suggested amendments are not implemented by parliament.
