HBO has announced that the "House of the Dragon" fantasy drama would return for a second season, after the "Game of Thrones" prequel debuted to nearly 10 million U.S. viewers.

Set years earlier in the same universe of George R.R. Martin's books, "House of the Dragon" depicts the glory days of the ancestors of popular "Thrones" characters, such as Daenerys Targaryen.

A co-producer of "The Matrix Resurrections" is suing Warner Bros. alleging breach of contract over the studio's decision to release the movie on a streaming platform at the same time as it hit theatres, a report said on Feb. 7.

HBO Max, the new streaming platform of WarnerMedia, arrives in Bulgaria on March 8, 2022, and from that date will replace the current HBO GO platform. HBO Max offers a whole new world of high-quality entertainment from Warner Bros., HBO, DC and Cartoon Network, Max Originals and many other content producers.

The organizers of the Golden Globes on July 16 banned its members from receiving gifts and free trips from movie studios and TV networks seeking to clinch awards for their shows and stars.

The 2022 Golden Globe Awards have been canceled by NBC as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association tries to reform amid mounting controversy.

"We continue to believe that the HFPA is committed to meaningful reform," said the Comcast-owned network this morning in a statement.

Fantasy writer George R.R. Martin has signed a five-year deal with HBO, the studio said on March 29, raising hopes among "Game of Thrones" fans for countless more adventures set among the dragons and warring families of Westeros.

Decades before glossy Netflix and Amazon shows began luring Hollywood A-listers to the small screen, cable network HBO helped invent premium television. Now the home of "The Sopranos," "The Wire" and "Game of Thrones" is scrambling to catch up with its newfound online rivals, launching its own multi-billion-dollar streaming platform -- HBO Max -- on May 27.    

A sequel to Game of Thrones, entitled "House of the Dragon," has been commissioned by HBO, WarnerMedia reported.

The new epic fantasy world of George R.R. Martin will follow events that happened 300 years before the events of the hit television series "Game of Thrones" and is based on the book "Fire and Blood", AFP reported.
