‘House of the Dragon’ renewed for second season

HBO has announced that the "House of the Dragon" fantasy drama would return for a second season, after the "Game of Thrones" prequel debuted to nearly 10 million U.S. viewers.

Set years earlier in the same universe of George R.R. Martin's books, "House of the Dragon" depicts the glory days of the ancestors of popular "Thrones" characters, such as Daenerys Targaryen.

Golden Globes 2022 Canceled

The 2022 Golden Globe Awards have been canceled by NBC as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association tries to reform amid mounting controversy.

"We continue to believe that the HFPA is committed to meaningful reform," said the Comcast-owned network this morning in a statement.

Now the home of "The Sopranos," "The Wire" and "Game of Thrones" is scrambling to catch up with its newfound online rivals, launching its own multi-billion-dollar streaming platform -- HBO Max -- on May 27.    

HBO Announces Game of Thrones Spinoff

A sequel to Game of Thrones, entitled "House of the Dragon," has been commissioned by HBO, WarnerMedia reported.

The new epic fantasy world of George R.R. Martin will follow events that happened 300 years before the events of the hit television series "Game of Thrones" and is based on the book "Fire and Blood", AFP reported.
