Crude steel production declines in August
Türkiye's crude steel production declined by 2.9 percent in August from a year ago to 2.8 million tons after rising 7.7 percent annually in the previous month, data from the World Steel Association have shown.
Türkiye was the world's eighth-largest producer of crude steel.

Türkiye's crude steel production declined by 20.6 percent in April compared with the same month of 2022, according to data from the World Steel Association (worldsteel).
With its output at 2.7 million tons, Türkiye was the world's ninth-largest producer of crude steel.

Türkiye produced a total of 2.7 million tons of crude steel in July, marking a 20.7 percent decline from a year ago, according to data from the World Steel Association (Worldsteel).
With 2.7 million tons of output, Türkiye was the world's eighth largest producer of crude steel.

Turkey’s crude steel production increases
Turkey's crude steel production increased by 1.6 percent on an annual basis to 3.4 million tons in April, data from the World Steel Association have shown.
In January-April, Turkey, which is the world's eighth-largest producer of steel, produced a total of 12.8 million tons of steel, which marked a 3.2 percent decline from the same period of last year.

Ankara takes legal route against EU steel curbs
Turkey has launched a legal challenge at the World Trade Organization (WTO) against EU tariffs on steel imports, the country's Trade Ministry said on March 20.
The EU launched an investigation and imposed curbs on steel imports in July 2018 in response to import duties applied by the United States.

Turkey's crude steel output on rise in January
Turkey's crude steel production surged 17.3 percent year-on-year to 3 million tons in January, according to a trade association on March 2.
The country's steel products exports showed a moderate rise of 0.6 percent to 1.9 million tons during the same period, the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD) said in a statement.

"We hope that the dialogue on normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina will be restored as soon as possible and that progress will be made," Schieb told Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti, commenting on unofficial information that EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini has asked for the dialogue to end by early June.
Serbia and World Steel Association have different stats
According to the World Steel Association, there was a 38.9 percent increase in Serbian crude steel production in January-November 2018.
In a statement, the RZS said a monthly report obtained from companies indicated a 13.1 percent increase in base metals production compared to the same period of 2017.
