Turkey has extended the suspension of 20 percent tariffs on wheat, barley, and corn imports until April 30, 2021, according to a presidential decree published in the Official Gazette on Dec. 17.

In a previous decree on Oct. 30, wheat import tariffs had been suspended until the end of this year.

The women were arrested at Larnaca airport and, according to Cypriot police, admitted to being paid between 700 and 1,000 euros to make the trip as 'fake brides' for non-EU nationals trying to secure residence in the bloc.

Turkey has completed discussions with 92 countries for resumption of flights, the country's transportation and infrastructure minister said on Aug. 14.  

Turkey continues to operate scheduled and non-scheduled flights with 48 countries as of Aug. 13, Adil Karaismailoğlu said in a press release.

Turkey's state-run aid agency on June 7 delivered medical supplies to Bangladesh in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

"TİKA [Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency] provided one thousand N95 masks, one thousand PPE suits, two ventilators and five thousand medical masks to support Bangladesh in fighting COVID-19," the Turkish Embassy in Dhaka said in a statement.

A storm in the Arabian Sea off India's west coast intensified into a severe cyclone on June 3, gathering speed as it barreled toward India's financial capital of Mumbai.

Turkey on May 24 evacuated four COVID-19 patients including an expatriate from Bangladesh, officials said. 

"Tuba Ahsan, a Turkish citizen, her Bangladeshi husband Mossaddique Ahsan, and their 3-year-old twins Huma and Ziyad were evacuated in an air ambulance," a statement by the Turkish Embassy in Dhaka read. 

A powerful cyclone that slammed into coastal India and Bangladesh has left damage difficult to assess on May 21 and about 20 deaths.

Tropical Cyclone Amphan has developed in the Bay of Bengal and is heading north towards eastern Indian states of Odisha and West Bengal before bearing down on western Bangladesh.

This enormous and slow-moving cyclone has a cloud band which is about 2,200km (1367 miles) wide and a well-defined 15km (9 miles) round eye. It continues to strengthen.

A strong cyclone was moving toward India and Bangladesh on May 19 as authorities were trying to evacuate millions of people while maintaining social distancing.

Amphan is expected to make landfall on Wednesday morning, and forecasters warned of extensive damage from high winds, heavy rainfall, tidal waves and some flooding in crowded cities like Kolkata.
