UK ambassador to Turkey locks horns with MHP head Bahçeli on Twitter over Kirkuk remarks

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli and U.K. Ambassador to Turkey Richard Moore have traded blows on Twitter, after Bahçeli criticized Britain's involvement in Middle Eastern politics.

He also raised eyebrows by claiming that Canada, Australia and New Zealand are not fully independent and have been ruled by governors assigned by the United Kingdom.

British PM May Loses Overall Majority

Prime Minister Theresa May's Conservatives have come first in Britain's general election but lost their overall majority in parliament, near-complete results showed on Friday, AFP reported.

With just 16 seats left to declare, the Conservatives have won 309 seats, meaning they cannot get an overall majority in the 650-seat House of Commons.

Prime Minister Theresa May's Conservatives are set to lose their overall majority after Britain's general election, an exit poll showed on Thursday after voting closed, AFP reports.

The Conservatives were set to win 314 seats, followed by Labour on 266, the Scottish National Party on 34 and the Liberal Democrats on 14, the poll for the BBC, Sky and ITV showed.
