Egypt's army clashed with jihadists in Sinai Friday, leaving two children dead, as President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi flew home to deal with a wave of militant attacks that killed at least 30 people.

Dacic thanks Ethiopia for its position on Kosovo
ADDIS ABEBA - Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic has met with Ethiopian Foreign Minister Tedros Adhanom in Addis Abeba.
During Sunday's meeting, Dacic thanked Adhanom for Ethiopia's principled position regarding the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo-Metohija, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Turkish president visits war-torn Somalia
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an arrived in war-torn Somalia on Jan. 25 amid tight security, a rare visit by a foreign leader to the war-torn nation.
Hundreds of soldiers and police officers had shut down much of the capital's streets, where on Jan. 22 five people were killed in a suicide attack on a hotel housing the Turkish delegation in Mogadishu.

Turkey's return to the Horn of Africa
The name of the first Ottoman diplomat in the Horn of Africa is Ahmet Mazhar Bey, who was appointed as consul general to the Ethiopian city of Harar in 1910s. He was shot dead by colonialists in Djibouti.
The last governor was Burhan Bey, who stayed at this Ottoman province until the French arrived in the 1880s.
