‘Brotherhood’ winner of 5th Islamic Solidarity Games: Minister
Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu has expressed that "brotherhood" stood out as the winner of the fifth Islamic Solidarity Games held in the Central Anatolian province of Konya, which hosted 4,200 international athletes.
"Nobody lost in this tournament. Unity and solidarity won," Kasapoğlu said during the closing ceremony of the games late on Aug. 18.
New US Ambassador Harpootlian presents credentials to Pahor
Ljubljana – The new US Ambassador to Slovenia Jamie L. Harpootlian presented her credentials to President Borut Pahor on Thursday, after the US Embassy in Ljubljana was headed by the chargé d’affaires for more than a year. Harpootlian said on the occasion that Slovenia and the US had tremendous opportunities to strengthen their ties in many ways.
Turkey's oil imports down 24.7 pct in January 2021
Turkey's total oil imports decreased by 24.7 percent to 2.65 million tonnes in January compared to the same month of 2020, according to data of Turkey's energy watchdog on March 28.

First 'Silk Road' train arrives in Tehran from China
The first train to connect China and Iran arrived in Tehran on Feb. 15 loaded with Chinese goods, reviving the ancient Silk Road, the Iranian railway company said.
The train, carrying 32 containers of commercial products from eastern Zhejiang province, took 14 days to make the 9,500-kilometre (5,900-mile) journey through Kazakstan and Turkmenistan.
