Eurostat: Bulgaria with the Biggest Jump in Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the EU
Bulgaria is the country in the EU with the largest increase in greenhouse gas emissions last year compared to 2020 (+22.7%), according to the European statistical agency Eurostat.
Slovenia’s fall in CO2 emissions in Q3 2021 biggest in EU
Luxembourg – Slovenia saw the biggest decline in greenhouse gas emissions in the EU in the third quarter of 2021 when compared to the same quarter a year before even as emissions across the bloc increased to slightly below pre-pandemic levels, Eurostat data shows.

Eurostat – 1 in 6 young Greeks facing severe material and social deprivation
In the EU in 2020, the severe material and social deprivation rate among young people (aged 15-29 years) was 7%. When compared with 2019, this increased by 2 percentage points (pp). The severe material and social deprivation rate among the total population was the same (7%).
The EC has Proposed that Nuclear Energy and Natural Gas be Classified as “Green”
The European Commission proposed on Wednesday that nuclear energy and natural gas be classified as sustainable for the period of transition to a carbon-neutral economy.
"The reason for the inclusion of gas and nuclear energy is that we firmly believe that these energy sources are necessary for the transition," said EU Financial Services Commissioner Mairead McGuinness.
