Men’s life expectancy down by almost a year
Ljubljana – The life expectancy of men in Slovenia dropped by 0.9 years last year compared to the year before, the Statistics Office said ahead of International Men’s Day, 19 November. However, men still assess their health more positively than women.

Pahor starting two-day visit to Luxembourg
Luxembourg – President Borut Pahor is starting a two-day working visit to Luxembourg on Sunday to meet several senior officials, including Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, and Grand Duke Henri. The visit is designed to intensify political dialogue and cooperation, Pahor’s office said before the visit.

Janša receives European bishops and church representatives
Ljubljana – Prime Minister Janez Janša met with representatives of the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the EU (COMECE) and the Conference of European Churches (CEC) on Friday. They discussed the global role of the EU, religious freedom and the ongoing pandemic, said the PM’s office and the Slovenian Bishops’ Conference (SŠK).

The Mexican Embassy in Turkey on Nov. 2 commemorated the Day of the Dead, a Mexican tradition honoring those who have passed away.
Highlighting the day's significance, Ambassador Jose Luis Martinez remarked in his speech that the Day of the Dead tradition can be traced back to Mexico's pre-Hispanic peoples.
