FETÖ terror group's 'Malaysia imam' detained

A suspected so-called "Malaysia imam" of the FETÖ was detained in central Turkey, security sources said on Jan. 25.

The suspect, identified by Ahmet K., was so-called imam of FETÖ members in Malaysia from 2011 to 2013.

Turkish police arrested the suspect and his wife, identified as Betul K., in Turkey's Konya province.

Juneyao Airlines coming to Greece

China's Juneyao Airlines plans to set up branches in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Iceland, Malaysia and Greece, the company said in a filing on Wednesday, as it ventures to Europe and Southeast Asia in a global expansion drive.
Due to foreign ownership rules, Juneyao will need to find local partners in each of the countries.

Turkey to unveil first indigenous car prototype next week

Turkey will unveil the prototype of its first indigenous car on Dec. 27, the nation's president said on Dec. 20. 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's remarks came in Malaysia where he attended Kuala Lumpur summit of Muslim world leaders this week.

The car publicity will be held in Gebze, a district of northwestern Kocaeli province, Erdoğan told reporters.

Turkey, Malaysia sign 15 pacts on science, defense

Turkish and Malaysian officials signed 15 agreements in various fields in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on Dec. 18 in the presence of both countries' leaders.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad at his official residence to witness the signing of 15 goodwill agreements on science, technology, and defense.

Erdoğan says 50,000 Syrians fleeing from Idlib to Turkey

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Dec. 19 said that some 50,000 people were fleeing to Turkey from Syria's northwestern region of Idlib.

"Now, there are 50,000 people coming to our lands from Idlib. We already host 4 million people, and now, an additional 50,000 are coming. Maybe this figure will increase even further," Erdoğan said.
