The Gulf countries imposing blockades on Qatar are the biggest losers in the recent crisis in terms of trade, Qatar's Economy Minister Jassim al-Thani has said, noting that the impact of the crisis on the Qatari economy was very small. 

Three Turkish defense firms took their place this year in a prestigious list of the world's top 100 defense firms, with two climbing up the rankings and the third making its debut.

Qatari Defense Minister Khalid bin Mohammed al-Attiyah has conditioned the lifting of a blockage imposed on his country by four Arab states before engaging in any dialogue with its neighbors.

"Lifting the siege should precede any dialogue," al-Attiyah said in an interview with Russia Today, excerpts of which was published by Qatar's official news agency on July 25.

Turkey and Gulf countries have agreed on the continuation of efforts and initiatives to ease the Qatar crisis, Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalın has said in a statement, as President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan embarked on the last leg of his two-day Gulf tour.

A new UN report reveals that Saudi Arabia has remained one of the most important buyers of obsolete ex-Yugoslav arms from Montenegro.

According to the document on yearly arms exports, filed under the country's obligation to report to the UN Arms Trade Treaty, Montenegro sold Saudi Arabia 82 items of large calibre artillery system, mostly mortars, in 2016.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in the Saudi city of Jeddah on July 23 on the first leg of his Gulf tour, which will also include Kuwait and Qatar.

Erdoğan was greeted by a number of Saudi officials upon his arrival at the King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud International Airport in Jeddah.

Turkey has welcomed the removal of a demand to shut down the Turkish base in Qatar from a list of demands imposed by Saudi Arabia and four other countries on the gas-rich country, calling it a positive move.
