Agreement on USA assistance to development of civil society
BELGRADE - Director of the Serbian government Office for Cooperation with Civil Society Ivana Cirkovic and head of the USAID Mission in Serbia Susan Fritz signed on Friday the agreement on the implementation of the project of an prosperous environment for the development of the civilian society.

Alejandro Cerrudo's One Thousand Pieces opens BDF
BELGRADE - The ballet One Thousand Pieces, choreographed by Alejandro Cerrudo of Spain, will be performed by Hubbard Street Dance from the US on March 30 to open the 11th Belgrade Dance Festival (BDF), BDF director Aja Jung said on Wednesday.

Radnicki beats US in humanitarian match
KRAGUJEVAC - The water polo team of Radnicki from Kragujevac defeated the US national team 9-6 (4-1 1-1 0-3 4-0) in a humanitarian match in Kragujevac on Wednesday.
Victory was not the most important thing in the match, so both coaches gave all their players a chance to play.

Tabakovic: Dinar, inflation and banking system are stable
BELGRADE - The banking system in Serbia is stable and the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) will do everything to keep the dinar and inflation stable as well, NBS Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic said on Thursday.
Aleksandar Zograf's exhibition to open on Wednesday
BELGRADE - An exhibition by cartoonist Aleksandar Zograf, titled Life in a Comic Book, will open late Wednesday at the French Institute in Belgrade.
The exhibition features Zograf's comic strips published in France in three collections: Second-Hand World (2008), Regards from Serbia (2000), E-mails from Pancevo (1999) and works published in albums from the Lapin series.
Ivanovic, Jankovic through to Doha second round
DOHA - Serbian tennis player Ana Ivanovic is through to the second round of the WTA tournament in Doha, after her first-round opponent, Slovakia's Daniela Hantuchova retired at the start of the second set.
With the Serbian player leading by 7:5, and 1-0 in the second set, Hantuchova withdrew with a right knee injury.

Premiere performance of Spanish national ballet in Belgrade
BELGRADE - Ballet Nacional de Espana (Spanish national ballet) will perform in Belgrade for the first time on March 28, providing an opportunity for the Serbian audience to see a live performance of the dance featured in the masterpieces by Spain's legendary film director Carlos Saura “Carmen” and “Flamenco, Flamenco”.
Nikolic decorates Itsuko Teruoka and Stella Jatras
BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic signed a decree on Monday, to mark the Statehood Day on February 15, whereby he decorated professor Itsuko Teruoka from Japan by a gold medal of merit for her exceptional engagement in humanitarian activities and delivered a posthumous decoration to Stella Jatras of the U.S.
