Nikolic brings humanitarian aid to Kraljevo citizens
KRALJEVO - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic delivered on Friday a total of 18 tons of humanitarian aid to the households in Kraljevo, central Serbia, which were worst hit by the recent severe floods.
The aid comprises eight tons of canned food and sweets and 10 tons of toiletries, collected in an initiative which Nikolic and the foundation run by his wife carried out together.
During the tour of the neighborhood of Grdica, Nikolic said that it will take three to four months to repair the flood damage in the area of Kraljevo, and noted that authorities will compile a list of priority households that will receive an assistance of RSD 120,000.
He noted that many municipalities managed to clear and disinfect the flood-hit areas, but that the state has to help.
Dragica Nikolic said that the foundation she runs will provide funds for the repair of floors and painting works, and around 900 beds.
In cooperation with the government from Abu Dhabi, 50 houses have been secured for the families that lost homes in the severe floods, she said, adding that one of the houses will go to the family in Kraljevo that was worst hit by the floods.
