Owner and Rector of Megatrend lies to have got PhD title in London

Mica Jovanovic, the owner and Rector of the Megatrend lied to have got the PhD title in London. Serbian Minister of Education Srdjan Verbic announced this at yesterday’s urgently held conference.

Turbulent days are ahead of Jovanovic and his Megatrend University. It is unthinkable that Jovanovic does not resign to the post of the Rector because that is a request by the whole expert public opinion. Also, the Law on High Education stipulates that a university cannot be led by an individual that has violated ethical code.

The study programs of the Megatrend shall find themselves under the magnifying glass of the Commission for Accreditation. Students however can make a sigh of relief since the faculty shall continue working and diplomas they got shall remain valid.

A permit license for the work of a university can be suspended by the Ministry of Education only. Minister Verbic said that they had already done everything that was in their competence.

Professor Srdjan Stankovic, President of the National Council for High Education confirmed that the Megatrend’s accreditation is not at risk.

- That what Mica Jovanovic has done has nothing to do with the accreditation of the Megatrend. Accreditation concerns study programs and this is a moral act of the Rector – Professor Stankovic said.
