Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia Discuss Tourism Investments

PM Boyko Borisov met with His Royal Highness Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Chairman of the Commission for Tourism and National Heritage of Saudi Arabia, who is heading a delegation studying the potential possibilities for investments in Bulgaria.

During the conversation Prince Sultan Al-Saud pointed out that, in the last few years, Saudi Arabia has focused on the tourism industry as a priority economic sector with huge potential for development and the establishment of partnerships with other countries.

His Royal Highness appreciated the natural assets and cultural-historical heritage of Bulgaria and described these as an excellent basis for co-operation and the implementation of joint projects.

Our country is a proven tourist destination. It is indicative that the number of foreign tourists to Bulgaria has increased by nearly 40% in the last 10 years, exceeding 7 million, almost as many as the entire population of the country.

Borisov emphasised that the country has a strategic location, good macroeconomic indicators, low taxes and qualified cadres.

"Bulgaria is economically stable, it maintains strict fiscal and financial discipline, and this makes it an attractive destination for investments," added Borisov.
