Kosovo: Almost 65pct of the working age population without job

PRISTINA - In the first quarter of this year 35.2 percent of the working-age population in Kosovo had a job, said Kosovo Statistics Agency, reported RTS.

Labor Force Survey (LFS) shows that the rate of employment among men is 38.6 percent, while among women 12.2 percent.

Women are employed mainly in the sectors of education, trade and health care, and men in manufacturing, trade and construction.

Agency conducted the survey on 591 sites in Kosovo, having questioned members of 3.702 households, randomly selected.

According to the results, two-thirds of the population in Kosovo is of working age, aged 15 to 64 years.

Among the working age population the inactive population takes 64.8 percent. Among women the rate is 82.6, compared to men in whom the rate is 47.2 percent.
