Coins with WWI motifs on display

BELGRADE - The Post, Telegraph, Telephone (PTT) Museum displayed on Tuesday coins with motifs of World War I made in cooperation with the public postal service Posta Srbije and the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Institute for Manufacturing Banknotes and Coins.

The coins picture Serbian commanders Zivojin Misic, Radovan Putnik, Stepa Stepanovic and Petar Bojovic, reconnaissance soldier Dragutin Matic and also the motifs of the Battles of Cer and Kolubara.

The coins, which were made on the occasion of 100 years since the beginning of the Great War, are wrapped in special boxes with texts in Serbian and English.

Nela Bojovic of Posta Srbije noted that the exhibition on the occasion of 100 years since the beginning of the Great War dubbed “Liaison Units of the Serbian Army in World War I 1914-1918” has been opened at the PTT Museum.

The exhibition displays wartime postcards, German telephone from 1916, spoils of war of the Morava infantry division from the Salonika Front, scale models of aircrafts of the allies, and the Polish telephone and Polish telegraph which were used by the Serbian Army during WWI.
