Photo exhibition on Nizhny Novgorod opens

NOVI SAD - An exhibition of photographs by Darko Dozet, titled Nizhny Novgorod - the rudder of Russia, opened late Monday at the Cultural Centre in Novi Sad.

On around 50 large photographs, photojournalist Dozet captured his view of Nizhny Novgorod, a twin city of Novi Sad.

Nizhny Novgorod has a special place in Russian history and is an example of traditional Russian architecture, said Marina Galogaza from the Serbia-Russia Friendship Society.

The photographs were made in 2011, when the author staged an exhibition on Kosovo-Metohija at the Russian State Museum of Photography, at the invitation of the Nizhny Novgorod city authorities.

Dozet, 37, is a photojournalist with the Novosti company who has previously worked at the Tanjug news agency and the Dnevnik daily and also collaborated with the world's most renowned news agencies, such as the Associated Press.

His photographs have been published in many newspapers and magazines worldwide.

The exhibition will be open until February 17.
