Skype Is Finally Getting A Call Recording Feature

Fifteen years after its launch, Skype is finally getting a built-in call recording feature. Many of its competitors have already been offering this service for some time.

Skype is finally getting the one feature it was seriously missing: call recording. It will be cloud-based which will allow you to access your call recordings from all the devices you use to connect via Skype, including Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Linux.

 

"Call recording is completely cloud-based, and as soon as you start recording, everyone in the call is notified that the call is being recorded," explains Microsoft's Skype team. "Call recordings combine everyone's video as well as any screens shared during the call."

Until now, the only way to record Skype calls was through third-party apps. It was indeed about time Microsoft offered a built-in feature. With call recordings, Skype is again a serious competitor within a fast growing market of online calling platforms.

The new call recording feature is part of a number of new features that are being introduced on Skype this summer.
