PM Dancila begins her visit to the Oman Sultanate and Qatar State

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila on Saturday started an official visit in the Gulf Area, in Muscat, the Oman Sultanate, and in Doha, respectively, the Qatar State, informs a press release of the Government sent to AGERPRES.

The visit, to take place over November 3-8, is meant "to strengthen bilateral political dialogue and economic and sectoral cooperation at the highest level of the government, the pragmatic interaction with the states member of the Gulf Cooperation Council representing a distinct foreign affairs objective assumed under the Government Programme 2017-2020."

The agenda of the visit to the Oman Sultanate includes meetings with Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said, Deputy Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers of the Oman Sultanate, ministers of the Cabinet, as well as a Business Forum, which will reunite members of the Cabinet, presidents of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, of the Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority, the Public Authority for Promoting Investments and Developing Export, as well as 20 prestigious Omani companies, interested in business opportunities in Romania, specified the Executive.

"The official visit to Muscat represents the first contact between Romania and the Oman Sultanate at government leadership level, since the establishment of uninterrupted diplomatic relations between the two states, on May 1 1974. Moreover, the programme of the visit includes the official opening of the Romanian Embassy in the Oman Sultanate, close to the 45th anniversary of uninterrupted diplomatic relations between the two countries, in 2019," mentions the same source.

Moreover, the agenda of the visit to the Qatar State includes meetings with the Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the Qatar State, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser al-Missned, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Qatar State, Mansour bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, President of the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the Sovereign Investment Fund of Qatar and the Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim bin Faisal Al Thani, the President of the Qatar Businessmen Association, says the release.
