Serbian Court Places Tsvetan Vasilev Under Recognizance Order
A Serbian court has ordered Tsvetan Vasilev, majority owner of Bulgaria's troubled Corpbank (KTB), to report to police every day while awaiting a decision on his potential extradition.
According to Sofia-based 24 Chasa daily, the restriction measure was imposed after Vasilev was interrrogated at Serbia's Supreme Court in Belgrade late on Tuesday.
Vasilev's lawyer Konstantin Simeonov said on Tuesday his client had sought contact with police in Belgrade to present himself to Serbian authorities and certify his whereabouts as well as to find out whether police had any questions to ask him.
Bulgarian prosecutotrs are seeking Vasilev's extradition on embezzlement charges.
