Lawyers stage protest in front of government building
BELGRADE - A few thousand lawyers rallied in front of the Serbian government's building in central Belgrade on Monday demanding their requests be met.
The Bar Association of Serbia said that around 4,000 lawyers from across Serbia gathered in Belgrade on Monday marking a month since they went on strike.
By this protest, the lawyers want to once again draw attention to their problems and call for continuation of negotiations with the Serbian government or anyone it appoints, it was underscored at the rally.
Belgrade lawyers went on strike on September 10, and colleagues from other parts of Serbia joined them a week later on September 17.
The lawyers protest against a lump-sum tax increase and adoption of amendments introducing the public notary system in Serbia.
