Covid-19 in Bulgaria: Growing Number of Hospitalized – 7,600, 107 Deaths

In the past 24 hours there have been 4,374 new cases of Covid-19, as107 died of it, show the data from the Single Information Portal for March 17.

Yesterday, 19,214 tests were made - 1,0861 PCR and 8,353 antigen. Positive tests are over 22%.

As of March 17, there were 47,173 active cases.

The number of hospitalized people, which are already 7,600, continues to grow, 612 patients are in intensive care wards.

During the day 1,757 patients were documented as cured.  In total, since the beginning of the epidemic in Bulgaria, there have been 228,816 recovered patients.

Since the pandemic outbreak 11,579 have died, according to official statistics.

For the day in Bulgaria, 4,287 vaccines against COVID-19 were administered- 3,803 of Pfizer/BioNTech and 484 of Moderna. Since the start of the immunisation campaign, 345,994 doses have been given, with 61,728 people who received the second shot.

Most of the new cases are registered in Sofia, Burgas, Plovdiv and Varna.
