Enescu Philharmonic to stream recording of concert conducted by Bergel, Friday at 19:00hrs

The George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra will stream on Friday at 19:00hrs, EEST, the recording of an October 9, 1997 concert with historical value conducted by great Romanian-born German conductor Erich Bergel (1930-1998). The playbill for the stream consists of "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis" by Ralph Vaughan Williams and "Symphony in D Minor" by Cesar Franck, the philharmonic orchestra reported on Thursday. In a series of concerts from the beginning of the 1997-1998 season, Bergel appeared for the last time on the stages of the Romanian Athenaeum, only a few months before his death. Those performances went down in the public's memory as highlights in the city's elite music. The recording can be listened to on the online channels of the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra and watched on the Facebook page of Radio Romania Muzical, the media partner of the event.
