President-elect Iohannis, DefMin Dusa join families of deceased soldiers
President-elect Klaus Iohannis, Defence Minister Mircea Dusa, Chairman of the Sibiu County Council Ioan Cindrea and Sibiu Prefect Ovidiu Sitterli on Sunday joined the commander and comrades of eight soldiers who died in a military airplane accident on Friday, lighting candles and sending condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.
The coffins of the eight dead soldiers on Sunday were flown to the Nicolae Balcescu Land Forces Academy of Sibiu for a military ceremony and a church service held by priests headed by Vicar Bishop Andrei Fagarasanu.
Five of the eight soldiers who died on Friday in a military airplane accident in Sibiu County were to be flown on Sunday to their hometowns in the counties of Arges, Alba and Olt, according to the Defence Ministry.
The eight who died in the accident are Commodore Artur-Grigore Palfi, 46, married with one child; Captain Rares-Cosmin Moldovan, 34, married with one child; captain Razvan-Aurel Moldovan, 29, married; Sub-Lieutenant Andrei-Catalin Apostol, 25, single; Warrant Officer First Class Paul Badescu, 41, single; Warrant Officer Second Class Dorin Fodor, 43, married with two children; Warrant Officer Third Class Vasile-Marian Gadalean, 33, sinlge with one child, and Warrant Officer Third Class Constantin-Dorin Filip, 30, single.
