Google Ideas director: Serbia could be good partner
BELGRADE/DAVOS - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic met in Davos, Switzerland, with Google Ideas Director Jared Cohen, and spoke with him about new technologies, possible cooperation between Google and Serbia, and the importance finding jobs for young and skilled software and new technology developers.
Google operates offices in countries that support modern technology and freedom of expression, Cohen said, stressing that Serbia could be a good cooperation partner.
The talks also touched on the possible implementation of some of the Google Ideas projects, particularly programs for detecting and combating terrorism, the Serbian government's media relations office said in a release.
Prime Minister Vucic said that one of the priorities of his government was increasing youth employment, as well as investing in new technologies, and invited Jared Cohen to visit Serbia soon.
Vucic also held talks with European Commission's First Vice President Frans Timmermans, Sberbank of Russia CEO German Gref, and Swiss Vice-President and Economy Minister Johann Schneider-Ammann on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2015 in the famous ski resort in the Swiss Alps.
The Serbian prime minister also spoke for the Reuters Global Markets Forum.
