Sava Centar organises direct coverage from Royal Opera House

BELGRADE - Belgrade's Sava Centar will host direct coverage of Umberto Giordano's opera Andrea Chenier from the Royal Opera House in London on Thursday.

The opera was directed by Davi McVicar, and the cast includes Jonas Kaufmann, Eva-Maria Westbroek and Zeljko Lucic, accompanied by the Royal Opera House Orchestra conducted by Antonio Pappano.

This production is particularly interesting to opera fans in Belgrade because world-famous Serbian baritone Zeljko Lucic will appear in it.

The direct coverage at Sava Centar starts at 8:15 p.m. CET and the tickets cost RSD 1,000.

The opera has four acts and is based on historical facts from the time of the French Revolution (1789-1799). The plot follows the last years in the life of French poet Chenier, sentenced to die on the guillotine.
