Bulgaria's CEZ Pledges to Improve Quality of Services after Lozen Protests
Electricity distribution company CEZ has taken up the responsibility of improving the quality of the provided services in Lozen, a press statement of the power distributor reads.
On Friday, company representatives met with the mayor and the chief engineers of Pancharevo municipality, the mayor of Lozen and people living in the village for a discussion on the further service improvements.
A new station in Dolni Lozen was launched on December 17, thus aiming to improve its service in the region.
Additionally, a new cable connection will be built in the second stage of the project. CEZ is currently awaiting an official permit and will proceed its infrastructural development immediately after. The company stated that the completion deadline is set three months from now.
As a result of the improvements, the risk of power failures in Lozen will be decreased and the service improved. The currently existing electrical distribution channels will be used as a back-up option in case of extraordinary disruptions.
The company also assured its customers that further inspections of the problematic areas will be conducted and that the reconstruction will start immediately upon the reception of the official permit.
On Sunday, citizens protested near the village and attempted to block the southern wing of the Sofia inter-city road.
