Crvena Zvezda loses to Krka, first defeat after 20 victories

NOVO MESTO - Belgrade's Crvena Zvezda lost to Krka from Novo Mesto 77-67 (25-13, 16-19, 16-20, 20-15) in the 21st round of the Adriatic Basketball Association (ABA) League late on Sunday.

The Belgrade team could not find a way to get around the extremely motivated hosts in Novo Mesto and suffered their first loss after 20 consecutive victories in the ABA League this season.

Krka now stands a chance of making it to the playoffs of the regional competition.

In the only remaining 21st round match, Cedevita played a home game in Zagreb, defeating city rivals Cibona 81-79 (28-17, 17-22, 20-20, 16-20).

It was the 15th ABA League victory this season for Cedevita, who are now firmly third in the standings, while Cibona suffered their 12th defeat.
