Tennis: Simona Halep goes down to 4th place in WTA ranking
Romanian tennis player Simona Halep went one place down, from 3rd to 4th, in the WTA ranking released on Monday, because she couldn't defend the points won last year in Doha, following the change in the competition calendar.

Halep, a winner in the tournament of Qatar, occupied the 3rd place in the WTA ranking of October 27. The Romanian tennis player is now 619 points away from Petra Kvitova, with whom she switched places in the ranking, with the first two places being occupied by Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
Simona Halep is the main seed of the tournament of Dubai, taking place this week, and Kvitova was seeded second.
Romania also has three other players in the top 100 ranking, Irina Begu, who stays on the 34th place, Monica Niculescu, 61st, four positions lower than last week, and Alexandra Dulgheru, who went down two steps and is now on the 97th position. Sorana Cirstea slid 14 positions and is now on the 166th.
In doubles, Monica Niculescu went down four places and occupies the 48th position, Irina Begu maintains the 49th position and Raluca Olaru, the 61st. AGERPRES
