World's best flute to perform with Belgrade Philharmonic
BELGRADE - Emmanuel Pahud, soloist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and probably the world's greatest living flutist, will perform with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra in the Grand Hall of Belgrade's Kolarac Foundation on Friday, February 20.
The concerto, conducted by famous Czech composer Libor Pesek and staged as part of the Classical Cycle 2014/15, will be a real treat for lovers of classical music, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra said in a release.
Pahud, who is of mixed Swiss and French background, is one of the most exciting and audacious musicians of today. At 22, he joined the Berlin Philharmonic as their principal flutist, which he has remained to this day, but besides this appointment, he also has an exceptional international career as soloist and chamber musician.
Pahud will perform K. Reinecke's Concerto Concerto for Flute and Orchestra, one of the most charming concertos composed for the instrument.
