Gojkovic, Cubrilovic urge more intense Serbia-RS cooperation

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic met with her Republika Srpska (RS) counterpart Nedeljko Cubrilovic on Friday to discuss intensifying inter-parliamentary cooperation to solve issues of interest to the citizens of Serbia and RS.

The two officials backed mutual cooperation, regional integrations and joint projects by Serbia and Republika Srpska pursuant to a protocol signed earlier as part of an agreement on special parallel relations between Serbia and RS.

The two parliament speakers particularly noted the joint interest in improving cooperation in the economy, education, science, culture and sport, as well as in implementing infrastructure projects and in more efficient use of natural resources.

They also highlighted a readiness for cooperation and sharing positive experiences regarding European integration and the process of passing reform laws.

Gojkovic and Cubrilovic agreed that Serbia's consistency as a guarantor of the Dayton Agreement that is pursuing a principled and objective policy towards RS and Bosnia and Herzegovina is very significant, urging further enhancement of the special ties between Serbia and RS through parliamentary cooperation, a statement said.
