Serbian and Czech companies need good projects

BELGRADE - Czech officials invited Serbian companies on Thursday to work with theirs, while Serbian officials said there were many projects in which the two countries could work together.

Czech business people are at the top of the ladder in terms of quality and capabilities and they want to work with Serbia, President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce Borivoj Minarz said at a business forum between Serbia and the Czech Republic.

Serbia's Minister of Economy Zeljko Sertic said Czech companies had expressed interest in 23 Serbian companies undergoing privatisation, and he invited others to apply to buy companies in restructuring.

The talks on modernising the railway between Nis and Dimitrovgrad, building the Stavalj mine and thermal power station and reconstructing the mine Soko in Resavica have continued, he stated, adding that many Czech companies were interested in investing in Serbian infrastructure.

Czech Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vladimir Bartl noted that both countries were interested the most in cooperation in the energy and transport infrastructure sectors, and that the business community needed good projects.
