Rajoy to Tsipras: EU has rules – Nobody can make their own

Mariano Rajoy sent the Greek government and Alexis Tsipras a clear message on Monday, namely, that the EU has its own rules and that none can make their own.  However, he said he remained hopeful that Greece will quickly overcome the situation it finds itself in.

The Spanish PM added that he has no problem to meet with his Greek counterpart, underlining that during the Germanwings tragedy, the Greek PM called him to wish him his deepest condolences.

Rajoy added that the meeting could take place in Athens until June, or during the next Summit meeting.
