Fire brigade: 32 fires broke out in the last 24 hours across the country

There were 32 agroforestry fires across the country in the last 24 hours. Of those, the Fire Department says 29 were dealt with immediately, at their initial stage, while firefighters are still dealing with three more.

A fire that broke out in low vegetation in Schisto Korydallos today has been brought under partial control. According to the fire brigade, the fire broke out around 12.35 pm in a difficult spot and 50 firefighters with 2 teams of hiking sections of the 1st EMODE, 11 vehicles and 3 helicopters were mobilised to extinguish it. Water trucks of local authorities provided assistance.

It is noted that the local investigative offices, as well as teams of the Directorate of Arson Crime Prevention are investigating the causes of the fires.

Finally, the Fire Brigade calls on all citizens to be particularly careful and in case of fire, for their own safety, to follow the instructions of the competent authorities.
