Municipality of Galatsi: 156 Fire-Affected Animals Sheltered at the Closed Olympic Gymnasium

On the initiative of the Minister of Interior, Thodoris Livanios, and the Special Secretariat for the Protection of Companion Animals, the Municipality of Galatsi has made the space of the Closed Olympic Gymnasium (PALAI) available for the establishment of a shelter for animals affected by the fires.

Currently, 156 animals are being housed there, and the municipality, in collaboration with Dog’s Voice and the Volunteer Action of Greek Veterinarians (EDKE), has ensured their care. There is also strong participation and support from the local community.

The residents, as in the past, are quickly stepping in to help in any way possible, whether through volunteer work or by providing food and equipment.
