Djuric: Konakovic tried to misuse NAM meeting to accuse Serbia

NEW YORK - Serbian FM Marko Djuric said on Monday evening Bosnia and Herzegovina FM Elmedin Konakovic had attempted to misuse a Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) ministerial meeting in New York to accuse Serbia and the Serbs of aggression.

Djuric said he had tried to outline an agenda of the future of Serbia and the region and speak about dynamic economic development, transport connectivity, new generations in the region and about building a common better future, omitting all ugly things from the past.

He added that, on the other hand, Konakovic's move was "very ugly and undiplomatic."

"He tried to hijack the NAM meeting and - in spite of the global problems now faced by humanity and despite all the challenges and a need to work together in the region - to misuse it to accuse Serbia and the Serbs of aggression and brand them as criminals and aggressors," Djuric said....
