Masked vandals strike again at Zografou University campus – Public property left unprotected despite promises
Another incident of public property vandalism occurred at the Zografou University Campus, where unknown perpetrators set fire to a Rector’s Office building on Friday, November 8, causing significant damage.
Authorities made the usual arrests of five individuals, although the attackers remain unidentified, as do the exact circumstances of this destructive assault.
A building guard reportedly informed the police about the presence of masked vandals who shattered windows and set fire to the Administration Building by throwing Molotov cocktails.
The fire at the Rector’s Office led to a large-scale response from the fire department, with 15 firefighters, 5 vehicles, and volunteers rushing to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
Unfortunately, such incidents have become routine, as the University Campus remains effectively unprotected. Despite repeated promises from the authorities, they have yet to establish a security perimeter to safeguard public property, even in high-risk areas like the University Campus, a well-known hotspot for actions by “the usual suspects.”
It is currently unknown if the masked individuals started the fire inside the building, but this possibility is also being investigated.
