Man arrested over illegal streaming operation
A 48-year-old man has been arrested on multiple charges of copyright infringement, the police's Cybercrime Division announced on Thursday.
According to the police, the suspect is believed to have stolen hundreds of user authentication codes from subscription TV services and used specialized equipment to illegally decode and redistribute content via servers managed by resellers.
A search of his home uncovered 11,000 euros in cash, 119 IPTV receivers, 27 hard drives, six computers, USB devices, routers and switches.
The confiscated cash will be deposited with the Deposits and Loans Fund, and the digital evidence has been sent for forensic analysis.
