Beneficial interventions on bank fees

The government is "proceeding with the voting on a series of reform interventions, proving in action its intention to substantially boost incomes for pensioners with low incomes as well as socially vulnerable fellow citizens," National Economy and Finance Minister Kostis Hatzidakis said in Parliament on Thursday.

During the debate in the plenary on the railways restructuring bill, he spoke about the three ministerial amendments appended that concerned, among other issues, interventions on bank fees and removing restrictions on the issuing of loans to include credit issuing agencies, as well as introducing a higher property tax for bank-owned properties in order to encourage them to offer them to the market.

He also referred to free distribution of drugs to 130,000 pensioners with low retirement checks (who retired as of 2020-2021), and a 100-euro bonus to 155,000...
