Conductor Oue performs with Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra
BELGRADE - Japanese conductor Eiji Oue has thrilled the audience at the Ilija Kolarac Endowment in Belgrade in his first performance with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra.
In an energetic display late Friday, Oue led the orchestra in performances of compositions by Blumina and Mahler and Dvorak's New World Symphony, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra said in a statement.
Virtuoso cellist Marc Coppey delivered a brilliant solo performance in Prokofiev's demanding Sinfonia Concertante and later joined the Philharmonic Orchestra for a performance of Dvorak's symphony, which was the highlight of this exceptional concert.
Eiji Oue's guest performance was organised in collaboration with JTI, a company that has been one of the main promoters of Japanese culture in Serbia, and the Embassy of Japan.
