DreamHack Bucharest 2015 marks new firsts in the electronic sports world

The 5th edition of the DreamHack Bucharest event that took place over the weekend at the Multipurpose Hall in Bucharest has marked several new firsts in the electronic sports world, according to a release to AGERPRES.

Among the most important novelties were the StarLadder final (for the first time organised outside its home city of Kiev), the participation for the first time in Eastern Europe of the best Dota2 teams (Vici Gaming and Invictus Gaming, both from China) and the organisation of first international tournament offline of the Heroes of the Storm.

More than 25,000 visitors have watched more than 400 foreign and Romanian players participating in the games at the PGL and StarLadder events, with thousands of youngsters hurrying to take parts in the wide range of events proposed by the organisers.

The PGL stage represented the place where one of the most important events of the DreamHack Bucharest 215 took place: the start of the PGL CS:GO Championship Series.

The Danes from the Team SoloMid were designated the great champions of the PGL CS:GO Championship Series, and they thus won the trophy and the 45,000 US dollars worth prize. The victory they obtained against their opponents from Ninjas in Pyjamas has ruined most of the bets made by the specialists and amateurs of eSport, according to the release.

Another attraction point was represented by the Heroes of the Storm event ? the new team-brawler produced by Blizzard Entertainment. PGL Spring Champions of the Storm represented the first great offline tournament at world level for this game aspiring to become a landmark in eSports. The final phase of the tournament...
