The military exercises for regional cooperation in South-Eastern Europe should take place regardless of the political and military situation, the National Defence minister Mircea Dusa said on Thursday.

"No matter the political and military situation, the training for these exercises is very important, because it preserves the military's operational capacity. Should financial possibilities exist, there must also be these exercises," Dusa said.

The minister has participated at the Babadag firing range of the Marines Battalion in the Distinguished Visitors Day within the South Eastern Europe Blue Angel ? 2015 (SEEBA ? 15) tactical exercise.

The exercise at the Babadag firing range is organized in regional cooperation at the South-East European countries' level. The leadership of the body that organizes the exercise here has decided that, this year should be unfurled exercises in each of the seven member states: Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Macedonia, Romania and Turkey," Dusa added.

According to the minister, Romania holds the chairmanship of the body that organizes the joint military exercises for cooperation in South-Eastern Europe. The number of the participants in the military training hosted by Romania is over 5,000.

"The Cincu exercise will be attended by over 1,500 military from Romania, Canada, USA and Great Britain. Here, in Babadag, are over 600 military, at Smardan were over 2,000 military and in the next month's exercise will participate roughly 1,000 military," the minister specified.
