Jankovic and Kleybanova eliminated in doubles

ROME - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic and Russia's Alisa Kleybanova failed to qualify for the qurterfinals in the WTA doubles event in Rome after losing to the Russian pair Ekaterina Makarova / Elena Vesnina in straight sets 7-5, 6-4 late on Thursday.

The Serb's bid in the women's singles event is still open, however, and she will face world No. 2 Agnieszka Radwanska in a match to decide a quarterfinalist.

The total prize money for the WTA Premier 5 tournament in Rome is EUR 2.12 million.
