Turkey from 1,000 feet exhibition opens at Belgrade fortress

BELGRADE - An exhibition by famous Turkish photographer Alp Alper has opened at the Belgrade fortress and will last until June 7.

Turkish Ambassador to Serbia Mehmet Kemal Bozay said at the opening ceremony on Saturday that the embassy and all its employees would do everything to collect as much aid for the victims of the floods in Serbia as possible, the embassy office for culture and tourism, which organised the exhibition, has said.

Cultural Attache Derya Polat presented Alper stressing that his exhibition was dedicated to the victims of the floods and as a symbol of sympathy and support for the Serbian people in their most difficult of times.

Alper attended the opening, while violinist Nedim Nalbantolu performed a recital in honour of the flood victims.

Alper's photographies, which haev been on display throughout the world, show Turkey from air, its historical and natural treasures.
