Dzajic: Defense of title is our debt towards the Red Star Army

After winning the 26th championship title and analysis of the work done, the Red Star FC President Dragan Dzajic does not want to promise the Champions League, but believes that the club is under obligation to defend the title.

- We have achieved our goal. It was very hard and with many ups and downs. At the half of the season we sensed we could be the first. The turning point was the match against Vojvodina last autumn that we won in the last minute and ended the season with one point behind the Partizan FC. All merits go to the footballers and the expert team. This team is one of the most professional one that I have seen and that is the main reason for winning the title. That is why defense of the title is a debt towards the Red Star FC army of fans – Dzajic says.

Nevertheless, the Red Star team is to undergo reconstruction, so there is impression that the Champions League shall remain far next season as well.

- I would personally like that the majority of the team remains because the guys know one another and there are also some experienced players. Not more than three new footballers would be quite sufficient. Perhaps we could make a team that can make a try – Dzajic adds.

According to his words the club shall not take expensive players.

- We shall not make any deal with various managers. We shall look for footballers who know where they are coming and what they can expect. If I keep the post of the President, and I think I shall, then I shall look for a sports director. I think the Red Star needs such individual.
