The death toll from Storm Daniel has risen to seven with the discovery of a dead man in the city of Volos in central Greece.

The 69-year-old individual, whose identity has not been disclosed by authorities, had been reported missing since Thursday evening.

A 30-day-old baby infected with SARS-CoV-2  was being treated at the pediatric clinic of the Achillopouleio Hospital in the city of Volos on Monday, without any symptoms.

The baby's mother is also being tested while its grandmother has tested positive for the virus.

The General University Hospital of Evros in northeastern Greece confirmed the region's first case of Covid-19 on Wednesday, causing particular concern as the area shares borders with both Turkey and Bulgaria, is host to hundreds of refugees and is also dealing with a major migrant push from the east.

A coroner's report is expected to shed light on the cause of death of an 11-year-old boy who was admitted to a hospital in Volos, central Greece, with a high temperature earlier this week.

The reasons for the sudden deterioration in the boy's health remained unclear.

After the robbery at Aghios Savvas Hospital in Thessaloniki last week, three more were targeted over the weekend in the central Greek towns of Larissa, Lamia and Volos.
