At Gymnich meeting, ForMin Aurescu emphasizes need for integrated approach to Eastern neighborhood conflicts

The protracted conflicts in the Eastern Neighborhood and the wider Black Sea region, EU-Africa relations and the EU's strategic vision for the Indo-Pacific region were some of the subjects discussed at the informal meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers (Gymnich) held Wednesday and Thursday in Lisbon, under the Portuguese Presidency of the EU Council, the Foreign Ministry informs in a release.

Turk Eximbank, African bank ink MoU to promote trade

Turk Eximbank on Dec. 23 signed a memorandum of understanding with the Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank (TDB) to promote bilateral trade with African countries.

The deal will pave the way for Turkey to boost its goods and services exports to 22 member countries of TDB, according to a statement by the Turk Eximbank.

Al Shabaab attacks UN compound in Somalia's capital

A heavily fortified compound in Somalia's capital Mogadishu was attacked by al Shabaab militants on March 18, local media reported.
Local broadcaster Dalsan Radio said mortar shells were fired at the Halane compound, which houses U.N., EU, and African Union facilities, as well as embassies of countries including the U.S. and U.K.
